1.so how's everything going for bloody sign these days?can you talk more about your upcoming new release?
Hi willie. Bloody Sign is going well man. We recently recorded our forthcoming assault in Italy. It will be entitled Explosion of Elements, and will contain 9 tracks of darkened death black. And we’re very proud of it... at least for the moment hehehe!! I think it will be released in september/october 2006, under Ibex Moon Records. We’re also looking for a exclusive european license. So, things are in process hehe

2.would your next release differ from the last one?
Hehe that’s quite difficult to answer to that kind of question. I don’t really know. Hummmmm... it’s always a mix between old school riffing and drumming, also i think of more personnal stuff. We still evolve every fucking day, so... and we have so many things to discover into metal compositions. I think that it’s a bit less black metalized, and more darker and eerie atmosphere, more strange harmonies, also my brother on drums contributes now to the riffing composition. Lyrics are dealing with what the title try to tell... explosion of primitive elements, relation with human and nature, loneliness of humans in front of infinite universe, power and revolt of nature, spirits...

3.how is your relationship with ibex moon records?how did you get in touch with them?do you have some sort of contract with them?
We have a good relation with Ibex Moon records, i’m often in contact with john mcEntee. In fact it was quite a surprise to know that McEntee wanted to have our band in his label. When we finished the recording of Vana Vigala Loits, i just sent some copies on cdr to bands i really worship. And Incantation is one of my fave band. And one day McEntee contacted me to tell that he was really interested to sign our band. I was really amazed hehe And... yes, we have “some sort of contract” hehe

4.BLOODY SIGN'S music is considered black/death metal. but for me you have much more in common with the classic death metal sounds of incantation,pestilence,sarcofago,etc.which i do like. would you agree on that ?
hey man, it’s really difficult to speak about that, as it’s our music, and i cannot be really objective. But yes, death metal is always what we listened the more. And Incantation and Pestilence were my pillars for a lot lot lot of years. I really like Sarcofago, but i don’t know if it has such an impact on our music.

5. there have been a number of killer death bands coming out in france in the recent years,such as benighted(which i am in contact with),act of gods,and the recent re-formation of the unholy LOUDBLAST.is death metal having a new uprising in france??
I’m not really into french scene any more. I worship the old bands like MASSACRA, MERCYLESS, AGRESSOR, but when it comes to nowadays death metal bands, i think that only DROWNING is the band i really like here when it comes to death metal. Of course there are quite other good bands like ACT OF GODS, mighty speed thrasher KILLERS. French death metal is really closed in his own world, where musicians want to create something... i don’t know how to translate my feeling, but they try to make something new, by mixing with a lot of non metal influences. And it never sounds natural. It’s very superficial.
In fact i don’t care about mixing metal with non metal, if it’s done with taste. But quite all french death metal bands fucking lack of taste. It’s horrible man... some of them really know how to handle their instruments, but the riffs lack taste, it’s total kitsch. I think black metal in french has a more “mature” (dont get me wrong...) sound, like ANTAEUS, DEATHSPELL OMEGA (aaaarrrghhh i'm dying while listening this band) and lot more. But also has its fucking crappy stuff, lot of shitty ns bands. Also what i particulary dislike is that porn funny gore grinding metal. I cannot support that kind of funny stuff, and french bands seems to really like that.
I don’t understand why lot of zines, webzines, bands, tell that finnaly France has nowadays a honourable scene in comparison to the worldwide one. They never look back in the past and realize how many fucking awesome bands were playing in our country more than 10 years before.

6.tell us more about your gigs? did you tour for "vana.."?
yeah, definitely. We try to play the more we can. And we toured quite a lot for an underground act such as ours. We did a eastern europe tour in spring 2005, playing in germany, hungary, bosnia, serbia, macedonia, austria, france of course, we also plaid in south america in summer, something like 15gigs in peru and ecuador, and a lot of single gigs. Also my brother replaced Kyle Severn for Incantation during their tour with Behemoth/Krisiun/Ragnarok, so we had the possibility to open for some of their shows with Bloody Sign. And few weeks ago, we also toured in south europe with our label mates, crazy ESTUARY (you definitely have to check!). When we play, we focus on energy, power, rock n roll, be 100% into our show, even if we do some mistakes here and there. We are a trio, so it’s not so easy, but i think we do it quite ok.

7. i really enjoy your pestilence cover on your last album..man,they are one my all-time favorite thrash/death metal bands!!
Thanks man hehehe. Me too they are one of my all time fave. But they grew too fast, and had nothing more to say to quickly

8.what got you into extreme metal,or even heavy metal in general?how long have you been listenng to it?can you imagine what you have been doing today if you are not into metal?
I'm 26 now and i began to listen to metal 13 years ago, more or less. My father helped me hehehe he made me discover the thing which change my life : BLACK SABBATH. It's the first band i really worshipped. Before i just listened music as a naive person. But with BLACK SAB i began to read the lyrics and sing the riffs and all that shit hehe I cannot see my life in a different way. I'm totally devoted to music, and totally addicted to metal, i just cannot see life without Metal reality hehehe
DEATH METAL ETERNAL!!!!!

9.what can you forsee in the future of BLOODY SIGN and of death metal?
I cannot see the future, sorry man! I just hope we'll go on our way and still discover the secret paths of darkness til the end.

10.i have one more question..who do you think was the first death metal band in france?
I don't really know in fact. But i guess AGRESSOR or MASSACRA were the first to play death metal in France. LOUDBLAST are also a quite old band here.
