1.HAILS!! HOW ARE YOU DOING? PLEASE TELL THE READERS A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF..

We are metal heads who try to hail hard music, in my opinion there is no other musical direction which can transport so much rage - engery - beauty - destruction, only comparable with the intension of classic. Fukk, we dig the aggression and brutality of Death Metal and the cold melodic - atmosphere of Black Metal and thats what we try to melt and perfect for more than a decade.
2.YOUR NEWEST CD GOAT-REICH HAS BEEN RELEASED THROUGH NAPALM RECORDS..HOW HAS THE RESPONSE BEEN SO FAR? ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH HOW IT TURNED OUT?
The album is available in Europe only for 6 days now, thats why we cant tell too much about it, except that we hope that the ppl will be as content as we are.
Well, GOATREICH - FLESHCULT presents extreme metal which we lift up with this album into the next musical level, we had no compositions before that was that tight, u know we have matured as musicians and people over our years as a band.
Specially in the guitar area we could retrieve a lot, GOATREICH - FLESHCULT sounds brilliant and also very brutal.
GOATREICH - FLESHCULT became a killer album and we are in the beginning of the interview/promotion period, the demands are enormous worldwide, it couldn´t work better for BELPHEGOR these times.
Next to the typical blast hymns we have some very various drumtakes/fills on the start, with more doublebass grooves.
Specially the soundcollages "SEPULTURE OF HYPOCRISY" was a musical experiment with its morbid atmosphere and the mechanical-screaming riffs. After more then 10 years looking for speed we are experienced musicians and know that speed is not the same like brutality. It was time to present our musical grown up and that we are able to give the main points ,...this doom-eruptions are in comparison to our other material slower but nevertheless typical BELPHEGOR.
U know, we have included new songstructures/scales/harmonies/leads into the album.
That's very difficult, to develope ourselves, to permit new influences and nevertheless to sound fukkin´extreme and aggressiv.

3.HAS THE BAND DONE ANY TOURING FOR THE GOAT-REICH FLESHCULT RELEASE?
Not yet. In the middle of April 05 we'll drive again thousands of kilometres through Europe to promote GOATREICH - FLESHCULT.
Arkhon Infaustus, In Aeternum, Asmodeus and some local troops going to share the stages w/ us.
A Spain/Portugal insertion is already in the booking process for June and there are first plans for an UK tour later this year.
I hope we get the chance to tour the US in the second half of 05, in October we will march into Latin America for a headliner slot. We are very excited how the demons will take the new tracks in a live situation, worldwide.

4.WHAT IS THE AUSTRIAN SCENE LIKE THESE DAYS?
I don´t pay much attention about any current scene,...
5.I NOTICED ON YOUR BIO IT MENTIONED A LABEL YOU GUYS HAD. CAN YOU GIVE US SOME INFORMATION ON IT? WHAT BANDS HAVE YOU SIGNED? IF YOU ARE STILL "SIGNING" BANDS WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR WHEN SIGNING BANDS?
BELPHEGOR published the 10 year anniversary album INFERNAL LIVE ORGASM (it was a kind of best of performers, incl. 2 clips, 2 demo songs & 2 unreleased bonus songs and 8 live songs) ourselves, over the own label, and no, there are no further releases planned. The market is already swamped with 100 of releases in the metal area and we dont feel like doin that...
6.GETTING BACK TO THE BAND FOR A MOMENT. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WRITE A SONG?
Thats really different, but it can long 2/3 months (for example Festum Festorum pt.II), to 3/4 years (f.e. Swarm Of Rats) and more.
We are fanatics and take releases very seriously, a song only gets on the album if we are content for 100 % ! We often arrange for months, some times we drop songs totally, or, it also has happened that the completed song didnt have to do anything with the original concept with which we started to rehearsal har har
THE BAND SEEMS TO BE GETTING MORE AGGRESSIVE WITH AGE INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN.WOULD YOU AGREE?
That was and is our goal since the foundation of the troup, to get more intensive.
WHO USUALY WRITES THE LYRICS ?DO THEY HAVE ANY SPECIAL MEANINGS?
Barth, Sigurd and me are responible for the verses. The storys on GOATREICH - FLESHCULT are again very direct and it deals more with destruction - blood - blasphemy, which reflects in the artwork
The vocals again tell you about the church as an institution that digs its own grave.....
BELPHEGOR alway tried to break musical rules and borders, we are really into it. We play the music we want to play and we do not care about what others think.
Progress as a band is first priority for BELPHEGOR, stagnation = death. We’ ve always tried to give our best and every album/demo whatsoever represents our respective skill and ability at the time of the release.
7.THE BAND DEFINTLY DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM THE EVIL/DARK SIDE OF LIFE. SO I WAS CURIOUS DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF SATANIST? WHAT DOES SATANISM MEAN TO YOU? ARE YOU FAMILAR WITH THE CHURCH OF SATAN HERE IN THE U.S? WHATS YOUR OPINION OF IT?
I don´t give a horseshit, the music thrones above all,......but let me tell u´we are enemies to the cross.
8. IN YOUR OPINION WHAT IS THE BEST AND WORST THING ABOOUT THE UNDERGROOUND? WHAT DOES THE TERM METAL UNDERGROUND MEAN TO YOU?
Everything was much more extreme, brute and dirtier - the whole hate / scornfullness reflected in the endless brutal music. Nowadays a lots of this spirit / attitude got lost and most bands got tame or dont exist anymore.
But what the fukk, we´re able to travel the world, meet so many amazing ppl´s and have probably played with all our favorite bands that exist...
